The Teacher’s Day will be held on September 27th, in the NCCU International Conference Hall on the first floor of the Research and Innovation Education Center. The award ceremony will honor 2017 Excellent teachers on teaching Excellence and 2019 Academic Senior Excellent Teachers. The principal Mr. Guo will present awards to 26 excellent teachers and 64 senior and excellent teachers.
Dr. Kuo would like to thank all teachers for becoming a part of National Chengchi University, and remind themselves teaching is not facing machines, it’s about life. Teachers is not only influence on student’s academic achievement, but also their direction of life. Dr. Kuo believes that "Teaching a student well is better than writing five essays. Because what you teach is an independent and responsible for life." If students choose academic work for future, they will try one’s best to research and contribute with more and more great academic paper.
Dr. Kuo’s ideal is "Students are the most important subject of the school". Therefore, he believes that teaching is the most important task in the overall school affairs. In the future, the school will pay more attention to teaching, especially care a lot about new generation teachers in NCCU team.
Dr. Kuo pointed out that if one word is used to describe the new era, it will be "Cross". Teaching should cross the department and the international world, so that the students of our school will be more energetic and competitive, and make more contributions to the society. Moreover, they can build a better life for yourself and your family.
Lin Tzu Ting, Assistant Professor of the Department of Psychology, who has won two awards for "Specialized Courses" and "General Studies Courses" and "Excellent Teacher", said that teaching has always been her favorite in her five years at National Chengchi University. However, she also emphasized that teachers cannot just provide textbooks or readily available information on the Internet. Teaching goal is to provide study methods for students and show them how to solve problems. Teaching doesn’t exit as statement only, so she wraps the courses with activities. For example, when she talks about the "organizational structure", let the students actually play various roles, such as CEO, mid-level executives, and clerks... Through experiential learning, teachers and students have received a lot of feedback from each other. Lin Tzu Ting believes that "it will be more profound than commit textbook to memory." This award made her feel more at ease, knowing her current teaching direction, and won recognition from the school and students.
After the awarding of the experience sharing time, Assistant Professor Lin Yu-Ming of the Department of Accounting, Professor Yu Nai-Ming of the School of International Affairs, Professor Wang Zeng - Yong of the Institute of Social Work, and Professor Liu Zhao-Lin of the Department of Computer Science, all discussed the rewards of excellent teachers, thoughts about teaching and administrative work…Dr. Kuo immediately responded to the teachers’ questions with the speech in a relaxed tone, and the ceremony ended during warming atmosphere.
